Eraserhead - Experimental Film

Eraserhead is an evil movie. It's unrelentingly grotesque and disturbing, fixated on death and deformity, but never feels trashy or exploitative in spite of the inherent presence of both. Throughout the entirety of its runtime, Eraserhead maintains a very distinct and very unsettling atmosphere. The world we're thrust into is an industrialized urban nightmare, an apocalyptic vision of sorts. I can guarantee you it will get under your skin. Personally, I see the movie as a metaphor for the urge to commit suicide and how hard it can be just to live sometimes. It's sickening, but a little bit beautiful.
